This is it, my last entry. This class has gone by so fast. well...lets jump into it.
What have I learned about myself?
Throughout this course we went over some stuff that was new to me and some stuff that I already knew. I personally feel that you can learn from both new and old material. Obviously when the material is new, your learning something different that you didn't know. Now, I also feel that you can learn something from reviewing old material too. I could have read something 100x but all it takes is one person to explain it from their point of view and I see it in a different way. I have learned that I need to be open to new ideas.
What have I learned about teaching in my content area (PE)?
The biggest thing that I'm going to take from this course would be technology. I have learned that we must keep up with times and incorporate technology into our lesson plans. In order to keep this generations attention, we must use technology. Its not going to be easy to use technology in PE but it will be worth it in the end.
Well class, I hope you have enjoyed my blog.

1st Post
My Name is Rocky Martinez and I am working on my teaching credentials through National University. I am a graduate of California State University, San Bernardino where I received my bachelors of science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Pedagogy. I have been married to my beautiful wife for the last 4 years. Just this past summer we had our first child. Her name is Camille Fumiko Martinez. She is my everything. Just recently, my wife and I just found out that we will be expecting another child in September.

Another member of my family is my dog, Jax Martinez. Jax is a blue nose pit bull who is one year old. Jax is the most playful and energetic puppy you can have.
Currently, I am subbing in the San Bernardino City Unified School District. This is my 3rd year as a substitute teacher and 2nd year as a resident sub for the district. I am also a wrestling coach at Grand Terrace High School. I have been involved with the sport of wrestling for about 15years now. I am very passionate about being active. I love staying busy and competing. I want to become a Physical Education teacher because I enjoy helping others and giving back to the future generation. On top of this I am a real active family man so the work hours work out perfect. Monday -Friday, weekends and holidays off not including thanksgiving break, Christmas break, spring break and you cant forget summer break all paid.
*How does or will your personality affect your relationships with your students? I feel my personality is contagious. My energetic passion for being fit and staying active will hopefully motivate my students.
There's much more about me...
so stay tuned to my next post.
“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!”
